I hate iTunes and it hates me. It’s fucking with Adium and my status messages. What’s interesting is that when I use “iTunes sucks” etc. as my away message in Adium, I get three pings regarding my hatred. I just wish Audion had not been retired.

As I posted in the Adium help forum:

I’ve recently noticed a problem where launching iTunes forces my status message to “Paused.” It then auto-shows the track I’m listening to if iTunes is running, and will override any other status message I try to set.

All apps that interface with the two have been nuked, pref files nuked, and complete reboot done. Yet the b0rkage continues. Gah.

I’ve used iTunes and Adium since about the day I first got OS X. Never have the 2 interfered or even interracted together….

Oh yes, and soundjam was the shit. Which is part of the reason why iTunes is good. If only it were soundjam skinnable, it wouldn’t take up so damn much screen real estate.

I much prefered some of the goodies that Adium provided, but SoundJam was indeed the poo. I suppose I could continue to run SoundJam in Classic, but that just seems like an waste of processor.
