All Star Par-tay

Just got home from the Macworld Party, featuring the Macworld All Stars Band (which Bryan is in). Woo! It was a great party, and the best of the recent past. Or at least the ones I’ve been to. The band was solid, and there were the requisite drunken dancers. I’m currently a bit tipsy, but not bad. A double of Crown Royal (rocks), a Corona (beer at the club was baaaaaad), and two lovely pints of Guinness from the tap. Mmmmm…Guinness. Nothing better than a good pint. Nothing at all.

Beer beer beer. Guinness. Mmmmm.

Greg, you were a lovely date. =)

live from Bah-ston!

Greetings! I’m sitting in a Macworld Boston presentation, by Bob Levitus called “So You Wanna Be a Rock Star” about working with GarageBand. Why am I here? Because Bryan is Bob’s “guitar technician.” Bryan is playing different guitar licks while Bob show off how to mess around with the program.

Basically, I’m just sitting in the back, playing online. Thank goodness for everywhere wireless here. San Francisco’s show could learn a thing or three.

If only you guys could hear Bob singing The Ramones… ;)

still up

Watching short films on IFC and burning my lap with the computer. I should be asleep.

I had fun out with Torrey today. It’s good to have him around again. Almost like being in Japan, but without the annoying teaching. ;) It’ll be fun with Koko gets here too.

still up still up still up. meh.

from the driveway

Greetings from our driveway, where my wireless access is sort of in and out. =)

We had a nice little BBQ this afternoon, with friends coming over, and a few key people flaking. And what’s a gathering without people showing up? ;)

So happy kill the presid…ummmm. Yeah. Woo. 4th of July.

something to blog about

No, I still haven’t managed to care about fixing the appearance problems in IE for Windows. I’m so full of the not-caring.

I suppose I need to comment about the current Dashboard vs. Konfabulator debate. Kerfluffle, really. I’m over my initial Total Outrage® and have moved on to Delicate Snubbing™.

Break it down!

Dashboard wins the fugly contest, hands down. What did the guy get told? “We need more bevels! Turn up the golrrram bevels!” Eesh. Subtle is lost. Konfab is still my app of choice. I just feel like it’s giving me more…and not just because Tiger won’t be out for monthsandmonths. I like visible widgets. I’ve got 15″ of screen-goodness. Why not? The final word, of course.

Other comments:

SafairRSS? Yawn. Despite the sweet nod to the Serenity (aka Firefly: The Movie) production, it’s not going to be useful in my life. Why? Because I already have NetNewsWire Lite, and it’s not brushed metal, that’s why. (Not to mention that Safari has yet again fallen to browser #3 in my rotation. Firefox and Camino are still battling it out.)
